Teachers with GUTS end of year workshop
Teachers with GUTS will offer its end of year workshop for cohort 1 teachers on Saturday, May 13th, from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm at the Old Santa Fe Inn. At this workshop, we will debrief the Teacher with GUTS PD experience and talk about next steps for teachers.
Project GUTS online PD course (MOOC) with facilitation
Project GUTS Online Professional Development Course 2017 will be offered with facilitation on June 5 - 30, 2017. In this online course you will experience computer modeling and simulation of complex adaptive systems as a learner then reflect on how you will implement the curriculum and modify it to meet the needs of your students.
We Teach CS (post conference Project GUTS PD workshop)
Project GUTS will be offering a 1.5 day workshop in conjunction with the We Teach CS conference at University of Texas, Austin. The workshop will take place on June 9-10th at the Commons on the UT Austin Pickle campus.

Teachers with GUTS summer workshop in Las Cruces, NM
NMSU CS department will be hosting the Teachers with GUTS summer PD workshop and practicum between June 12-23, 2017. This workshop will consist of an intensive first week of learning the Project GUTS curriculum and developing models, followed by a second week of practicums at which teachers will practice teaching the curriculum during a Project GUTS middle school camp.

Project GUTS will offer a CS in Science 3 day summer PD workshop in Riverside CA on June 21-23, 2017. This workshop will be facilitated by Su Gibbs and Jennifer Cordova.

CSTA Annual Conference
CSTA 2017 is the annual conference of the Computer Science Teachers Association. The main goal of the conference is to provide quality information/assistance--professional development--for computer science teachers and others who wish to include computing in their teaching.
Project GUTS will be hosting a booth at CSTA '17. Please let Irene Lee (ialee@mit.edu) know if you will be attending and can spend some time at the booth.
Project GUTS at NM EPSCoR Interdisciplinary Working Group workshop
Project GUTS was invited to participate in the NM EPSCoR Interdisciplinary Innovation Working Group (I-IWG) workshop on New Mexico Computational Science Pathway: an Integral Part of NM’s Cyberinfrastructure for Research and Education. At this workshop, participants will discuss computer science pathways in New Mexico (what currently exists in New Mexico? What populations are served by these? then begin to map out pathways, starting with K-12 through higher education and ending with employment.

Computer Modeling Can Do What? (Imagination Toolbox 2017 Summer PD)
This summer, the Museum Institute for Teaching Science (MITS) will offer a one-week Summer Professional Development Institute in partnership with MIT Scheller Teacher Education Program. The July 31 – August 4, 2017 institute will provide an opportunity for middle and high school educators to use StarLogo Nova’s block programming platform and Imagination Toolbox curriculum materials to create computational models or simulations.
