What's the impact of using the Random function?

Reflect on the impact of using the Random function within command blocks.  Post your reflection here

The Random function allows for the inclusion of a specified range of variability. This translates into a wiggle in the walk of the turtle, or change in the color of the path. This function will allow for more realistic reflection of the stochastic nature of CAS once we learn the basics of StarLogo Nova.

Exactly what Bright_Eyed_Science said.

Based on Bright_Eyed_Science, I'm expecting that the number associated with the "random" block represents the upper limit on the numbers that can be called.

This is random set to 50:

Random 50 degrees

This is random set to 100:

Random at 100

I was surprised by the results of this experiment and don't suspect that my guess was right....

The random function adds variability to a simulation. This is because the wiggle that is created cannot be predicted causing the turtles to mimic a real-world event.

Random seems to add variability as stated above.
