Were you able to make interesting designs using simple commands?

Were you able to make your turtles leave interesting designs using simple commands?  If so, how?

Post your reflection here

I found that I am quiet adept at "painting" contrails and worm burrows in various colors and thicknesses. Each turtle was individually sized and colored in The World. I added a lot of wiggle by randomizing degrees of turn and number of steps in Turtle. My attempt at "painting" a house with 5 turtles was definitely an exercise in the abstract.

This random walk exercise reminded me of being at a mall during a busy shopping season. By randomizing the sizes, colors, number of steps and degrees turned it made an interesting abstract design.  By changing the color of the world, it brought out the colors even more.

My designs were very circular at first, then I increased the number associated with the "random" block and the chaos ensued!

The turtles left a very interesting design. I think by having the turtles move left and right a random amount of degrees, the designs become more creative.

I think I will need to play around with this more.  I just learned Scratch yesterday and that really helped me to understand how to use the various blocks to make commands.  The more I play around with this, the more creative I can learn to be.  I know my students will catch on quickly and will probably be able to teach me a thing or two quickly.
