CS in Science -Project GUTS regional PD workshop at PUMP-CS PD Week (Wisconsin)

5-day virtual workshop for middle-school science teachers.

Over the past three school years, in collaboration with the Marquette University and the PUMP-CS initiative, middle school science teachers from Milwaukee Public Schools and districts throughout Wisconsin and beyond, have taken part in instructional cohorts to learn, explore, and integrate computational science skills with the goal of developing and using models in the science classroom.

This is Project GUTS' PD that is part of the PUMP-CS PD Summits.

The course is designed to integrate Computer Science (CS) concepts into existing middle school science classes, especially in contexts in which a standalone CS course is not available. Helps students from all different backgrounds to engage in scientific inquiry by investigating topics of interest to their local communities and sharing their experiments and findings.

CSNYC Project GUTS PD Workshop

Group photo outside on terraceProject GUTS will offer a 3 day professional development workshop sponsored by CSNYC on August 28-30, 2017.  This workshop will prepare NYC teachers to integrate the CS in Science curricular modules into regular school day science classes. 

CSTA Annual Conference

In person

CSTA 2017 is the annual conference of the Computer Science Teachers Association. The main goal of the conference is to provide quality information/assistance--professional development--for computer science teachers and others who wish to include computing in their teaching.

Project GUTS will be hosting a booth at CSTA '17.  Please let Irene Lee (ialee@mit.edu) know if you will be attending and can spend some time at the booth.
